Today was a good day at the Biscuit Even though our front of house manager can be a little moody (and by a little, I mean crazy), she was in a great mood all day today, going so far as to compliment me and then call me Hans the next time she came out. (Not Hans like Hans and Franz, but with a hard a sound - itapos;s a short version of my name, and itapos;s not my favorite, but itapos;s better than some nicknames.)

We stood out in the wind all day and now Iapos;m in a sweatshirt and a blanket and getting sick, and I have to go back for a meeting at 9. Thatapos;s pretty sad. And the Colts are losing to Green Bay which is kind of sad too.

But Georgia won yesterday Hooray.

What do I mean but that?

Lay your fabric out on the biggest flattest surface you own. For me it is my big area rug. Spray the fabric with a water mister and pin it in a flat and rectangular shape. Then Iron it till it gives up trying to be stretchy and wrinkly. You may need to re-mist and move your pins as you go.
Let the fabric cool.
Now you should be ready to cut it and use it as you would any other fabric.

Your iron and water bottle are your friend.

What can you guys tell me about Milwaukee School of Engineering? Is it easy to change majors? I applied for computer engineering but I want to change it to software engineering.

My parents donapos;t like the acceptance envelope- they think stuff is missing from it. All I got was the "omg congrats youapos;re accepted" letter, an envelope to send the $100 tuition deposit, a piece of paper talking about FAFSA, and a big plastic red folder for "MSOE-related paperwork." Shouldnapos;t these things have a lot more paper and stuff?

Yeah, well I did...not sure how majorly but I have...well maybe on one subject but the other that involves a friend yes.

Iapos;ve been receiving calls from a company that wants to help me get out of debt on my credit card (I.E. I have one card, limit is $6,300---Spent 3,014.84) and Iapos;m having ONE HELL OF A TIME making a pinch in the numbers. So I was desperate. A desperate fool? who knows...I finally answered the call and talked to them. I actually had a really good feeling about this too, usually I get a pang of uneasiness when it comes to these things, but this time it wasnapos;t there. I actually felt relieved

The catch to everything? I had to pay a little over $1,000 to get this help, but the guy guaranteed to help me pay off my card 3 to 5 times faster in the long run. Christ...*head desk* and I did it too. I felt a bit of regret when I told my mom and she told dad and they freaked out on me (well a little) so now I donapos;t know what to do. Its too late to go back, but the guy even said that if he couldnapos;t help me, I would get my money back and I have paper work to fill out and I get my first financial advisor meeting next week. So hearing that didnapos;t make me feel weary at all.

so who knows...

Thereapos;s something bizarrely satisfying about having lots of small glass jars of exciting teas and spices. I think that if/when I have my own living space, for real (not just for a year at a time), Iapos;ll have that. Laura and I went to the Albert Cuyp market yesterday, and I bought some spicy curry powder and some mango-flavored black tea from the amazing spice shop, and theyapos;re sitting happily in their little glass jars in the kitchen. I think this weird enjoyment of a spice collection satisfies the part of me that wants to live in the rambling little house across the street from Terhune Orchards and wear skirts and scarves and bake my own bread, the part of me that hopes that my hair will only get bigger and crazier as I get older and grayer. Itapos;s having the visual excitement of apothacaryness and witchery, but domesticated. Domesticated sorcery. You can take a long autumn walk among the falling leaves and trees, listen to the birds and the dry crunching of your boot-steps, feel the wind getting itself ready for some truly wintry howling, and come home and rummage through your shelves of teas and spices until you find just the right ones to warm your hands around.

A strange and selective life-revelation, to be sure. But hey.

Back to reality - Laura and her friend Landis and I went to the Cave last night. Unexpextedly, Diegoapos;s roommateapos;s band Seita was playing, and they were actually really awesome. I felt moderately cool. It was a good night, but it got a bit odd towards the end. I like that place.

Dikke party hier:) Woensdag ben ik druk bezig geweest: ben bezig met het oprichten van een soort sportactiviteitenclub, waar voor studenten mee aan kunnen doen. Al mn studievaardigheden heb ik dus in de strijd gegooid bij het maken van een flyer en de tekst en het vooruit denken de van de club. Het resultaat is mooi geworden, zal binnenkort even een foto erop zetten. Daarna heb ik weer les gegeven en het ging lekker. Kwam wel helemaal bezweet aan omdat het hie 30 graden is en ik, als stresskipje, de bus niet zo vertrouw. 's Avonds was er een Welcomeparty van Roomates en er kwamen veel mensen Na eerst een tijdje met iedereen te hebben gepraat, was het tijd om mijn flyers uit te delen en iedereen was erg enthousiast. De club heet Macacu en bestaat al een tijdje (Juan en vrienden hebben het zo'n 5 jaar geleden opgericht, maar er niks mee gedaan). Nu aan mij de taak om dit op poten te zetten. En ik vind het geweldig om te doen Bezig zijn met sport, maar ook een beetje met organiseren, marketing etc. De eerste activiteit is een MTB tocht door Sierra Norte, een natuurpark. Hier loopt een oude spoorlijn doorheen wat gemaakt is tot fietspad. Het schijnt een erg mooie tocht te zijn. Voor 1 november moet ik m zelf gaan fietsen, want ik moet natuurlijk wel een beetje goed georganiseerd voor de dag komen... Verder staat er op de planning om elke donderdagvond te gaan skeeleren met een clubje. Ik ben benieuwd wat hier uit komt

Verder is het ticket naar Brazilie toch geboekt. Met een beetje (ik zeg een BEETJE) hulp van Juan, gaan we toch lekker samen op vakantie. Eindelijk leren kiten (na zo ong. Een jaar op het strand te hebben staan blauwbekken). Gaaf 13 nov tot 1 dec gaan we, joehoe
